Nitrate‑Based Water‑Soluble Fertilizer Anti‑Caking Agent | Liquid Anti‑Caking Agent for Ammonium Nitrate

1. Product Overview

FRX‑03E‑2 is a specialized coating‑type anti‑caking agent, developed for nitrate‑based water‑soluble fertilizer and non‑porous granular ammonium nitrate.

At low ambient temperature, the product presents a translucent thin‑paste state.
It shall be completely melted with no precipitates visible before spraying.
It must be heated to achieve good fluidity for atomizing spraying, with broad applicable working temperature from 50‑70 ℃ for optimal spraying and anti‑caking effect.

After proper heating and atomized spraying, it forms a uniform protective barrier on fertilizer granule surfaces. It effectively suppresses crystal‑bridge formation between highly‑hygroscopic nitrate‑series particles, maintaining granule free‑flow property in long‑term warehouse storage and overseas sea‑freight transportation.

Recommended dosage: 1.5‑2.5 kg per ton of finished fertilizer. Adjust actual addition amount according to fertilizer moisture, granule condition, local humidity and expected storage cycle. Plant trial test is suggested to confirm optimal dosage.

2. Core Advantages

  1. Formulated exclusively for nitrate‑based water‑soluble fertilizer and non‑porous granular ammonium nitrate, targeting high‑hygroscopic caking challenges of nitrate‑series fertilizers.
  2. Translucent thin‑paste appearance at low temperature; complete melting without precipitates is mandatory prior to spraying to guarantee proper fluidity for atomization.
  3. Broad stable working temperature range of 50‑70 ℃, offering flexible on‑site production adjustment.
  4. Builds continuous hydrophobic protective film over granule surfaces, blocking moisture ingress and restraining crystal‑bridge formation.
  5. Compatible with standard rotary‑drum spraying equipment; only heating‑insulation retrofits are required, no major equipment reconstruction.
  6. Optimal dosage of 1.5‑2.5 kg per metric ton fertilizer, does not interfere with fertilizer nutrient indicators.
  7. Delivers steady anti‑caking performance for export‑grade nitrate fertilizers under high‑humidity sea‑freight and long‑term storage conditions.

4. Application & Operating Notes

4.1 Heating & Spraying Procedure

  1. Heat FRX‑03E‑2 inside insulated melting tank. Do not spray when it remains thin‑paste without heating.
  2. Heat the material, verify the material is completely melted and free of precipitates before spraying. Keep working temperature within 50‑70 ℃ during production. Keep stirring during heating process to guarantee uniform temperature and full melting.
  3. Spray the heated liquid agent evenly onto fully‑cooled fertilizer granules inside cooling rotary drum via metering pump and atomizing nozzle.

4.2 Dosage Reference

Standard addition rate: 1.5‑2.5 kg / ton finished fertilizer. Increase dosage appropriately when fertilizer moisture is high, storage period is long or shipping by tropical sea freight. Reduce dosage under low‑moisture and short‑storage scenarios. On‑site trial is highly recommended.

Important: Fertilizer granules shall be sufficiently cooled before spraying to secure ideal coating and anti‑caking result.

5. Packaging, Storage & Transportation

Packaging: 200L metal drum; 1000L IBC tote tank for bulk orders.

Storage: Store in cool and ventilated warehouse. Prevent freezing. Keep container tightly sealed. Low‑temperature thin‑paste status is normal physical property, not product failure.

Transportation: Handle gently, keep away from rain exposure.

6. Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can FRX‑03E‑2 be used without heating?
A: No. It is translucent thin paste under low temperature. Spraying without heating will cause poor fluidity, bad atomization and nozzle clogging. Heat to 50‑70 ℃, ensure full melting and no precipitates before use.

Q2: Does higher temperature will cause product degradation?
A: 50‑70 ℃ is its stable working‑temperature range and will not damage product performance. Keep continuous stirring and pipeline insulation during operation, ensure no precipitates occur.

Q3: Is it suitable for porous granular ammonium nitrate?
A: FRX‑03E‑2 is developed for non‑porous granular ammonium nitrate. It is not recommended for porous‑type ammonium nitrate.

Q4: Do I need to modify my existing spraying line?
A: Existing rotary‑drum spraying setup can be adopted. You need to equip heating‑insulation melting tank and heat‑preservation pipelines to prevent material cooling back to paste state and precipitate formation.
